Does the software work on an Apple computer?
The Prosodietrainer only works on the Microsoft Windows operating system (Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8).
If you want to run the software on an Apple computer, you are advised to install Boot Camp and install a version of Windows on your machine.
What kind of microphone do I need?
A head-mounted microphone is recommended. Do not use a low-quality microphone (the microphone should pick up low-frequency sounds).
Built-in microphones of laptops are not recommended.
I don't get any feedback while doing the exercises.
This means not enough speech was detected. Make sure that the microphone is properly connected and the recording volume is sufficiently high.
If the patient is aphonic to some extent, getting no feedback is normal. Listen to the recorded signal and make sure it sounds loud enough and the speech of the patient is voiced.
I can't click on 'Volgende' during the prosody test to go to the next step.
This means not enough speech was detected. Make sure that the microphone is properly connected and the recording volume is sufficiently high.

The initialization of the USB flash drive takes a long time.
When the flash drive is initialized, all files of the patient version of the Prosodietrainer are copied to the drive.
Depending on your operating system and USB version this can take some time (15 to 30 minutes). For this reason we advise you to
pre-initialise some USB flash drives so this is already done when you want to give the drive to a patient.
Only the copying of the patient-specific data is then still required, which is very fast.
The patient-version of the Prosodietrainer doesn't work.
Make sure you didn't forget to export the patient data by clicking on 'Patiëntgegevens exporteren'.
If this step is skipped the patient-version will not work. Try again to export the patient data.
If this does not fix the problem, re-initialize the USB flash drive and then re-export the patient data.
